Lead Data Acquisition Engineer – Cybersecurity Science & Analytics
Location: Kraków, hybrid, Poland
About the Role: We are seeking a talented Lead Data Acquisition Engineer to join our global team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing advanced cybersecurity and analytics capabilities, helping to secure one of the largest technology estates in the world. You will collaborate with data technology professionals to deliver critical analytics engineering requirements for a strategic cybersecurity data lake and analytics platform. This is a hands-on technical role that offers ample opportunities for growth and learning.
Key Responsibilities:

Data Engineering & Data Acquisition: Lead the ingestion and provisioning of raw datasets, enriched tables, and curated data assets to support cybersecurity use cases.

Improve data ingestion processes, ensuring real-time coverage and reliability.

Enhance data ingestion infrastructure and pipelines to ensure smooth data flow across the enterprise.

Design and implement ETL workflows and data pipelines that transport and deliver data from disparate sources to the data platform.

Identify and onboard new data sources and investigate new schemas through exploratory data analysis.
Required Skills:
-
Technical Proficiency: Experience with cloud-based data pipelines (Azure preferred), data transport, and data cleaning.

Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, cloud infrastructure, and platform engineering.

Proficiency in scripting (Bash/PowerShell, Azure CLI), programming (Python, C#, Java), and query languages (SQL, Kusto).

Familiarity with cloud services such as Azure, Databricks, Azure Functions, and Azure Data Factory.

Experience with tools like Terraform, Chef, Ansible, and CloudFormation.

Experience with real-time analytics deployment and large-scale data sets.
Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field preferred.

Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a passion for learning.

Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., financial services) is advantageous.

Understanding of cybersecurity principles and frameworks (e.g., ISO2700x, OWASP, PCI DSS) is a plus.
