Senior Civil Engineer – Steel Structures for Transmission Lines and Substations
We seek a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer specializing in steel structures for transmission lines and substations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of proven expertise in designing steel structures related to overhead transmission lines and substation equipment, specifically for 400 kV and below voltages.
Location: Warsaw (Poland)
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and calculation of steel structures including suspension and tension towers, terminal towers, substations steel gantries, and equipment structures.
- Calculation of all relevant normal and emergency load trees necessary for tower structural strength, considering wind loads, imbalanced loads, tension forces, and other relevant factors.
- Designing lattice towers primary and secondary members, producing detailed construction-level drawings and layouts.
- Designing tubular tower layouts and specifying main components in coordination with manufacturers.
- Calculation of static and dynamic forces for substation steel structures, including short circuits, and designing steel gantries and equipment supports accordingly.
- Incorporating parameters from equipment suppliers into steel structures design.
- Producing specifications for steel lattice towers, tubular poles, and substation steel gantries and equipment supports.
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited University;
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the design of steel structures related to transmission lines and substations.
- Proficient in relevant steel structure codes such as EN, IEE, and other applicable standards.
- Proficient in software including PLS-TOWER, PLS-POLE, BOCAD, and/or Tekla for structural analysis and design.
- Proficient in both Polish and English languages for effective communication and coordination.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality designs within specified timelines
