The Localization Engineer will play a pivotal role in the technical implementation of localization processes and workflows to ensure the seamless adaptation of the digital products for international markets.
Responsibilities:
UX Localization Engineer
1. Develop and maintain localization tools, scripts, and automation workflows to streamline the localization process.
2. Collaborate with software engineers and product teams to integrate localization capabilities into our digital products and platforms.
3. Configure and customize translation and content systems and other localization technology platforms.
4. Perform linguistic and functional testing of localized products to identify and resolve issues related to language support, character encoding, and UI layout.
5. Troubleshoot and debug localization-related issues, working closely with QA teams and external vendors to ensure timely resolution.
6. Coordinate the production of translations for web content and other digital products.
7. Identify and fix linguistic and market specific issues before product launch.
8. Create and maintain linguistic assets (TMs, glossaries, style guides, reference material)
9. Demonstrates support for company culture in their daily actions.
10. Maintain a clean and safe work area.
11. May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.
12. Learning, understanding, continuously improving, and promoting the quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.
Senior UX Localization Engineer
1. Responsibilities as outlined in UX Localization Engineer.
2. Implement and maintain internationalization best practices to enable efficient localization of software applications and web content.
3. Develop and implement a comprehensive localization strategy.
4. Lead assigned projects with limited assistance, displaying outstanding contribution and impact to the team and projects.
5. Provide leadership and technical support and guidance to translators, entry level localization engineers, and other stakeholders on localization tools and processes.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, UX Design, Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 6 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proven experience in localization engineering or software development, preferably in a technology-driven environment.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java, with experience in scripting and automation.
• Familiarity with localization file formats and localization standards.
• Experience with agile software development methodologies.
• Knowledge of internationalization and localization concepts, including Unicode, character encoding, and locale-specific formatting.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
