Security Devops Engineer (WAF)

Location: Hybrid – 6 days per month onsite (cracow/warsaw)
Type: B2B contract only

We are currently looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to support one of our clients in the cybersecurity domain. The role focuses on building and maintaining secure, efficient CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong automation mindset, deep technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams in a complex, regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement customized CI/CD pipelines for various project use cases

• Maintain and optimize existing CI/CD pipelines to ensure security, performance, and compliance with modern standards

• Integrate third-party tools and team-specific solutions into the CI/CD workflow

• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) manifests using Terraform

• Write and manage scripts to automate deployment and infrastructure management tasks

• Work with API management platforms such as Kong API Gateway (preferred), Apigee, AWS API Gateway, or Azure API Gateway

• Utilize tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, JIRA, and Python as part of the DevOps toolchain

• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to align DevOps efforts across the organization

• Conduct independent research using internal resources (e.g., Confluence), and engage with stakeholders to resolve open questions

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, Travis CI, Bamboo)

• Experience with Web Application Firewalls (WAF), such as AWS WAF, Azure WAF, F5, or open-source solutions

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell

• Strong experience with Terraform and other IaC tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet)

• Familiarity with structured data formats: JSON, YAML, XML

• Expertise in working with APIs, including integration and lifecycle management

• Solid knowledge of Git and version control practices

• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms

• Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Knowledge of observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Splunk

• Awareness of security practices in DevOps environments (DevSecOps)

• Experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies

• Understanding of core networking and security concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

• Ability to manage dependencies and timelines in a multi-team setup

• Proactive, self-driven approach to research and knowledge sharing
