Your Career Opportunity

As part of one of the largest and most influential banks in Europe, our Markets and Securities Services team is at the forefront of technology solutions for Global Banking and Markets. We are currently building the next generation of Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) engines, migrating to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and developing proprietary analytics.

CCR is a business-critical function, responsible for calculating risk exposure across thousands of global clients daily. Our team is creating a modern, cloud-based system using open-source technologies such as Java SE, Spring Boot, Apache Beam, and others. We are in the early stages of establishing a new development team in Kraków as part of a long-term strategy to strengthen our platform across Europe.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reliable Java microservices for the CCR platform
• Take part in the full product lifecycle: from discovery and design to implementation and post-release support
• Ensure test-driven development and collaborate with teams across Europe and Asia
• Focus on optimizing system performance, reliability, and security
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence
• Support the platform through incident management, monitoring, and problem resolution
• Develop and maintain automated tools to improve operational support

What You Need to Succeed

• 3+ years of experience designing and developing distributed systems in Java
• Expertise in building microservices with Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs
• Hands-on experience with cloud technologies (GCP or others) and DevOps practices
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Test-Driven Development (TDD)
• Proficiency in software principles like SOLID, KISS, DRY, YAGNI
• Excellent communication skills and a problem-solving mindset
• Previous experience in the investment banking sector is a plus
• Self-motivated and eager to learn new technologies and tackle complex challenges
