Senior Application Support Specialist

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Application Support Specialist ((Enterprise Platform Operations) to join a global team responsible for supporting and optimizing a portfolio of mission-critical, cloud-native applications used across a worldwide logistics network.

You will work in a modern technology environment focused on delivering highly scalable digital products built on microservices architecture, real-time data processing, and advanced cloud technologies. This role combines deep technical troubleshooting, platform reliability, performance optimization, and close collaboration with engineering teams to ensure seamless business operations.

As a senior member of the team, you will take ownership of complex production issues, contribute to strategic support initiatives, and help shape best practices across the application support function.

Your Responsibilities:

• Manage and resolve application incidents within agreed service levels (SLAs)
• Investigate and resolve complex production issues affecting business-critical applications
• Collaborate with Development, DevOps, SRE, QA, and Infrastructure teams to implement permanent solutions
• Communicate effectively with senior stakeholders regarding critical incidents, root causes, and improvement initiatives
• Monitor application and system performance, identifying opportunities for enhanced stability, scalability, and supportability
• Develop, maintain, and monitor Error Budgets for supported applications
• Design and implement automated monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions
• Lead support-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives
• Analyze support metrics and application performance data to identify trends and optimization opportunities
• Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles
• Mentor less experienced team members and contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives
• Participate in an on-call rotation supporting a global 24/7 production environment

What We Are Looking For:

• 4+ years of experience in Application Support, Technical Support, Production Support, or a similar role
• Experience troubleshooting complex enterprise applications in production environments
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems
• Experience with ITSM processes and tools
• Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, or other Atlassian products
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders
• Excellent English skills, both written and spoken
• A proactive mindset, ownership attitude, and customer-focused approach

Nice to Have:

• Experience with cloud-native applications and platforms
• Knowledge of scripting or programming languages
• Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices
• Experience supporting high-availability, large-scale enterprise platforms
• Background in monitoring, observability, and performance optimization
