Cybersecurity Engineer – HashiCorp Vault & IAM
We are looking for an experienced HashiCorp Vault Engineer to join a team responsible for developing, supporting and improving enterprise-scale secrets management and Privileged Access Management solutions.
In this role, you will focus primarily on an on-premises HashiCorp Vault environment. You will support teams integrating their applications and services with Vault, provide technical guidance and best practices, and help build scalable, secure and self-service solutions.

Your responsibilities

Provide technical consultation and support to teams integrating applications and services with HashiCorp Vault.

Advise on onboarding strategies and best practices related to Vault Secrets Engines and Authentication Methods.

Design and improve secure, scalable and efficient secrets management solutions.

Identify and troubleshoot integration issues, including failed calls and service inefficiencies.

Monitor service usage and trends and identify opportunities to improve performance, reliability and resilience.

Build and maintain high-quality technical documentation, onboarding guides and self-service materials.

Support automation and infrastructure-as-code initiatives using Terraform and other automation tools.

Contribute to solution design and act as a technical subject matter expert in HashiCorp Vault and secrets management.

Design and improve monitoring and alerting capabilities for enterprise-scale environments.

Investigate complex incidents, participate in crisis calls and contribute to root cause analysis and remediation plans.

Collaborate closely with technical teams and stakeholders across different locations and time zones.

Work in an Agile environment and manage activities using tools such as Jira and Jira Service Management.

Participate in occasional out-of-hours work related to incident support and change implementation.
Requirements

At least 3 years of hands-on experience with HashiCorp Vault, preferably in an on-premises environment.

At least 3 years of experience with HashiCorp Terraform and infrastructure automation.

Strong experience integrating applications and services with Vault.

Good understanding of Vault Secrets Engines and Authentication Methods.

Experience troubleshooting Vault integrations and improving service efficiency.

Experience working with enterprise monitoring and alerting solutions, such as Splunk, Grafana, AppDynamics or SCOM.

Experience managing complex incidents and performing root cause analysis.

Understanding of large-scale enterprise IT environments.

Experience working in Agile teams and using Jira and Jira Service Management.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into effective solutions.

Ability to work independently while collaborating with distributed, international teams.

Experience with Windows Server and Linux Server environments.

Experience with Kubernetes.

Knowledge of Jenkins, CI/CD and automation concepts.

Experience with Ansible.

Knowledge of scripting or programming languages.

Experience using GitHub and software development best practices.

Experience working with audit, security and compliance requirements.

Experience managing Jira boards, task prioritisation or supporting Agile delivery processes.

Knowledge of Privileged Access Management (PAM) or broader Identity and Access Management (IAM) technologies.
